9 killed, 10 injured in mass shooting at South Africa tavern

The attack took place around 1 am (local time) when a group of armed assailants arrived at the tavern in two vehicles and opened fire on patrons gathered inside. Police officials said that approximately 12 suspects were involved in the attack and fled the scene immediately after carrying out the shooting.

The exercise, titled "AIKEYME" (Africa-India Key Maritime Engagement), will see the participation of several African nations, including Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, and South Africa. The exercise is part of India's growing engagement with the Global South, as outlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "MAHASAGAR" vision for mutual and holistic advancement in the region.

Two South African nationals were arrested in Bengaluru in connection with the case.
